Event scheduled in Rome (29-30 October) in conjunction with the 10th edition of Oil&nonOil-S&TC.
Scientific Committee appointed for the 2015 edition and programme of conventions defined.

Two days of technical conventions to review the current status and future of road infrastructure in Italy: assets amounting to more than 850,000 kilometres of asphalted roads, from motorways to private driveways. Asphaltica World is the “conference” event scheduled in Rome 29-30 October 2015 and organized by SITEB, the Italian Bitumen and Asphalt Association, and Veronafiere.  The new format makes its debut in the capital and is reserved for professionals in road and related sectors. It joins the traditional Asphaltica Show dedicated to road paving and infrastructure management and technologies scheduled in Verona in 2017 (22-25 February) together with SaMoTer, the international earth-moving, site and building machinery show.

Asphaltica World is a kind of States General for a sector boasting 4,000 companies, 400 large bitumen production centres and 35,000 employees, expanding to 500,000 if allied trades are included. Professional training is the main keystone for the workshops scheduled during the two-day event with three sessions – one on Thursday and two on Friday – dealing with three macro-topics: road management in Italy, new resources and technologies and performance control.

Content will range from road management for large and small public administrations, through to maintenance, recycling asphalt and bitumen and road platform safety analysis – not forgetting regulatory aspects and financing of works. All these topics will be presented and analysed through case histories and the viewpoints of sector experts.

Attendance at each Conference also entails the issue of a Certificate of Attendance and three training credits valid for compulsory refresher training of engineers. The programme, contents and speakers at Asphaltica World 2015 were selected by the Scientific Committee chaired by Carlo Giavarini, Honorary President of SITEB, joined by: Gabriele Camomilla, terotechnologist; Eleonora Cesolini, ANAS Central Director for Research and New Technologies; Federico D’Amico, Ministry of the Environment; Ornella Segnalini, Director General for Road Infrastructure, Ministry of Infrastructures and Transport; Mario Virano, TELT, European Lyon-Turin Tunnel Company Armando Zambrano, President of the National Council of Engineers.

In addition to Asphaltica World, the Palazzo dei Congressi in Rome will also host the 10th edition of Oil&nonOil-S&TC, the Veronafiere exhibition focusing on the distribution, storage and transport network for fuels and car wash.
